The Weingarten Center collaborated this week with students on the FGLI Dean’s Advisory Board in the College of Arts and Sciences to offer three workshops
Learning Consultations offer opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to build and strengthen their study skills and strategies as they engage with Penn coursework and a variety of academic projects. Our learning specialists support you by addressing time and project management, organization, academic reading, research and writing, problem-solving, and exam preparation.
You can schedule 50-minute virtual or in-person meetings to discuss your study strategies and approaches to a variety of academic assignments and assessments. Access MyWeingartenCenter to schedule a Learning Consultation. If you select a virtual consultation, you will receive a Zoom meeting link in the appointment confirmation email.
Appointments are generally available Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET, but we may offer additional times in MyWeingartenCenter depending on the availability of our learning specialists.
Students are limited to scheduling one Learning Consultation per week. If an additional appointment is needed in that week, we ask that you speak with your learning specialist.
You are welcome to schedule follow-up consultations with the same learning specialist or a different one. Learning specialists are happy to work with you throughout your time at Penn.
There is no cost to Penn students for learning consultations.
Unfortunately, learning consultations are not available to students in online-only programs, but we encourage you to check out our Resources for Online Learning.
The Weingarten Center collaborates with key campus partners, such as the Graduate Center and Penn First Plus, to offer drop-in consultations during the fall and spring semesters. During these 25-minute, in-person drop-in consultations, students can discuss study strategies, managing assignments, school-life balance, or how to access Weingarten Center resources.
To preview or supplement consultations with our learning specialists, we recommend our Study Tools and Strategies where you’ll find our best resources to support your academic success. In addition, our learning specialists share their perspectives on effective study and learning through the Weingarten Center Blog.
